This was such a completely last minute, instinctive outfit, chosen mostly out of my realization that I wouldn't be walking much today, and the weather would be warm, so I could finally wear my recently thrifted Zara slides. My photos don't do them justice, the edge of the back heel are silver, I love them! Then I decided to grab my current statement earrings (I lost one of my previous favorite black fringed hoop statement earring, boo hoo.) and last years trendy top, which I think will work again this year. Add one simple black maxi, and an outfit is born!
I haven't been feeling that "fashiony" lately, probably due to the rainy weather. Not that we didn't need the rain, or even that I minded that much, it just cramped my style, outfit-wise, so I've been recycling the same few outfits. Today was one of the first days I felt the desire to choose something that fit my mood, rather than just dealt with the realities of the weather.
Today is so beautiful I wish I could just live outside - in a Mediterranean style home with courtyards and patios. Since there aren't many of those around here, and if they are here I couldn't afford one, I just chose to dress in a way that made me feel as if I was living there - and did sit outside sipping my free Starbucks drink pretending it was the Amalfi coast I was looking at instead of a Trader Joe's parking lot... Clothes are powerful, y'all!
What makes you feel most like making an effort on your outfit? Weather, mood, season?
